I call it Alan Moore’s law:

According to Alan Moore, the rate of information produced and gathered by mankind is accelerating at an exponential rate, and he theorizes (without offering any specifics) that it is likely to come to a head around the year 2015. At that time, he says, our society’s oversaturation of information will reach the point where the “fluid” state of human intellect will boil over and turn into “steam.”
